Afro Fusion Cuisine’s Jerk Portobello mushroom burger


1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons bottled organic low sodium soy or Teriyaki sauce of your choice
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 teaspoon Afro Fusion Cuisine’s Jerk Spice Blend
1 teaspoon of Afro Fusion Cuisine’s reggae Girl Jerk Marinade
6 portobello mushroom caps, stems removed
4 slices cheese
6 Angelic’s Bakehouse whole grain hamburger buns
Sliced tomato, lettuce and onion


1. Make the basting sauce by whisking together olive oil, teriyaki or Soy sauce, garlic, Afro Fusion Jerk spice and Reggae Girl Jerk Marinade. Set aside.

2. Light the grill. Brush mushroom caps with some of the basting sauce. Grill, turning and basting occasionally, until mushrooms are tender, 10 to 15 minutes. 3. When mushrooms are done, top with cheese slices to melt. Serve on buns with tomato, lettuce and onion.


1.This recipe can be done in the oven ( baking on a baking sheet at 450 degree until tender (about 7 minutes) and broil for 3 minutes each side)

2. On stove top – You can pan-sear your mushroom 7 minutes each side at medium high temperature.
